Types of Railway Jobs

First you should know that Indian Railway Services is divided into two cadres. Gadget and Non-Gazetted and Divided into four groups Group A B C and D. Out of these four groups, Group A and D are official cadre posts consisting of engineering staff, medical staff and officers. The staff of these groups are gazetted employees while the employees of Groups C and D are non-gazetted. Group C has sub-ordinate staff positions such as supervisor clerk and skilled labor. That is, for this group’s posts like Indian Railway Traffic Service, Indian Railway Accounts Service and Indian Railway Personal Service, you have to clear UPSC Civil Service Exam in which selection is done after pre-mains interview and medical examination. UPSC conducts the Indian Engineering Service (IDS) exam for Group A engineering posts in Indian Railways. Through this exam, candidates are recruited for engineering positions in government departments including railways and this exam is also completed in three stages, pre-mains and interview.
To apply for the different post of Group A, you must have an According Bachelor’s degree in Railway Post. Like Bachelor Degree in Engineering MBBS Degree Extra Age Limit for this Group is 21 to 32 Years and there is no Exam for Assistant Nursing Officer from Group B Post. When Group C employees have completed at least three years of service in the Railways, then they are promoted to Group B through examination. Under this graduate post comes posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist Accounts Clerk cum Typist Junior Timekeeper, Trains Clerk and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk. The graduate post comes with the post of Traffic Assistant Goods Guard Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk Senior Clerk cum Typist Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist Senior Time Keeper Commercial Apprentice and Station Master.
This exam consists of two computer based tests followed by typing skill test or computer based aptitude test followed by document verification and medical examination. They get the corresponding variation of the post in the status.

In this exam, there is recruitment on the post Junior Engineer i.e. GD Junior Engineer, Information Technology Department Superintendent, DMS and Chemical and Logical Assistant  an MBA, the age limit of this exam is 18 to 33 years. The age limit of this exam is 17 to 21 years and the selection is done on the basis of written test and personality test.
